Terms of Service
Last updated: February 26, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the OpenFrame Cloud platform ("Service") operated at openframe.us, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
OpenFrame is an open-source, self-hosted family dashboard platform. The OpenFrame Cloud service provides:
- Account management and authentication via Google or Microsoft OAuth
- Remote management of self-hosted OpenFrame instances
- Relay connectivity between devices and self-hosted instances
- TV and kiosk setup facilitation
3. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must sign in using a supported OAuth provider (Google or Microsoft). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
- Use the Service to transmit malware, spam, or harmful content
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Use the relay service to proxy traffic for purposes unrelated to OpenFrame functionality
5. Self-Hosted Instances
OpenFrame is designed to run on your own hardware. You are solely responsible for the operation, maintenance, security, and data stored on your self-hosted instances. The OpenFrame Cloud service facilitates connectivity but does not control or manage the content on your instances.
6. Third-Party Integrations
The Service allows you to connect third-party accounts (Google, Microsoft, Spotify, etc.). Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third party's terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content provided by third-party services.
7. Open Source License
The OpenFrame software is open source. The source code is available at github.com/tyler-danielson/openframe. Your use of the source code is governed by the applicable open source license. These Terms govern your use of the hosted OpenFrame Cloud service specifically.
8. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice.
Since OpenFrame is self-hosted, your dashboard continues to function independently even if the cloud service is unavailable.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenFrame and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your account data will be deleted from our servers, but data on your self-hosted instances is unaffected.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
